The topic of nutritional supplementation for cancer patients is vast. There are many variables, many brands and opinions. For the purpose of simplification, this is a small segment of supplements that I (Eli) take or have taken which I consider to be excellent.
Keep in mind, I'm not a clinical nutritionist and I can't prescribe anything for you. I'm simply sharing what has worked for me, and you're welcome to explore them and decide if they're right for you. I'd encourage you to work directly with a healthcare professional that can guide you specifically. You may want to speak with your doctor about your supplements, vitamins and herbs, especially if you're undergoing treatment.
BOOST YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM FUNCTION NATURALLY!
ALOE ARBORESCENS - There are many supplements that I've taken over the years. THIS product literally, and clinically, helped me boost my immunity in a BIG way when I needed it most (during and after chemo). It was a game changer in my healing journey. I still take this as maintenance, especially during cold/flu season.

VEGAN VIT. D3 + K2 - This is an essential part of strengthening the immune system. You know about getting Vitamin D from sunshine, right? For most of us, it's challenging to get almost naked and spend 15-20 minutes per day out in the sun. Sounds wonderful, but tough to commit to. You can also get Vitamin D from foods like eggs and sardines.
For me, it's easier to take certain supplements (along with super healthy foods, sunshine, water, exercise.) This is a vegan product (vs extracting Vitamin D from sheep's wool) and it includes two essential forms of K2 (MK-4 + MK-7), which work synergistically with Vitamin D.
Did you know that Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium? Vitamin K2 helps the body ensure that calcium is properly utilized (i.e., that it is ending up in the bones and not in the heart and blood vessels). In essence, Vitamin K2 keeps calcium in your bones and teeth and out of soft tissues.
HOST DEFENSE MUSHROOMS - MY COMMUNITY Medicinal mushrooms are a phenomenal way to boost our immunity! They've been traditionally used for protection against infectious diseases and various cancers.
They provide a rich source of nutrients and bioactive compounds that are associated with the protection against infectious diseases and several other health effects, including supporting the immune system.
This extract has a blend of some of the most powerful medicinal mushrooms, including: chaga, cordyceps, lion's mane, maitake, oyster, reishi and turkey tail.
This is the 4 oz bottle which is a little pricey, but worth it. It also comes in 1 and 2 oz. presentations.
WELLNESS FORMULA: This is an absolute must in my arsenal! At the first sign of an imbalance, feeling the tell-tale signs of a cold or chest condition, I load up on Wellness Formula. This has saved me countless of times from having a cold develop into a nasty one.
This formula contains a powerful combination of herbs, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. The tablets are rather large, and you need to take 3, twice or three times per day during the imbalance. (The capsules are easier to take but you need 6!) Then you can take one as a regular maintenance dose.
Keeping our immune system protected, especially during times of stress, is essential to staying well.
PROBIOTICS - GARDEN OF LIFE PRIMAL DEFENSE: As you probably know, 70-80% of our immunity resides in our bowel. It's crucial to create a proper balance of bacteria for optimal digestion, boost nutrient absorption, increase immunity, and enhance colon health.
When deciding on a probiotic, I always make sure the CFU's are in the billions (this one has 15 billion) and that it has at least 10 beneficial strains of not only acidophilus and bifidus, but others (this one has 13 strains.) It is whole food based, gluten free and vegetarian. There are other probiotics with much higher counts and more strains. This one is a good one to start, unless you're dealing with more serious gut issues.
Some probiotics need to be kept in the fridge. This one is shelf stable, so it's easy to keep by your bedside to remind you to take it, and it's great for travel, too.
Generally, I trust the Garden of Life brand and the many products they provide.
MRM PEA-PROTEIN POWDER: I've literally tried dozens of protein powders. Most are too sweet (too much sugar) or chalky texture, or they don't blend well and lump. And most are whey (dairy) protein. For those of us who choose to minimize dairy and sugar, this pea protein powder, sweetened with natural stevia, is a dream come true!
I like vanilla because it blends beautifully with many ingredients for smoothies: frozen blue or strawberries, dark greens, cacao powder to turn it into a chocolate shake, anything! It's a versatile way to boost healthy protein intake periodically.
This formula includes digestive enzymes, it has 13 fruits and vegetables (including broccoli, a cruciferous cancer-fighting veggie) and I think it's delicious. Try it, and see what you think!

It includes organic wheatgrass and other grasses, a rich source of chlorophyl that helps to "cleanse" our blood, as well as a wonderful blend of organic veggies and fruits.
And as an added plus, digestive enzymes and pre and probiotics. The product is certified organic, gluten free, it has no sugar added, and it's Non-GMO
GREEN TEA EXTRACT: Green tea is touted to be one of the healthiest beverages on the planet. Of course it's best to drink the tea directly, but in order for the benefits to really accumulate you need to drink 10-12 cups per day. Which is a lot.
That's when supplements come in very handy. Life Extension is an excellent company, and what i like about this product is that it's decaffeinated. (If you like the extra jolt of caffeine, this product also comes in its lightly caffeinated version.)
Green tea is best known to contain a catechin called EGCG. Catechins are natural antioxidants that help prevent cell damage and provide other health benefits which may include: improved brain function, fat loss, protecting against cancer, lowering the risk of heart disease.
It's also rich in polyphenols, which are natural compounds that can help in reducing inflammation. These substances can reduce the formation of free radicals in the body, which play a role in aging and many types of diseases.
Plus green tea is also a good source of the amino acid L-theanine - which has been reported to aid in the production of germ-fighting compounds in your T-cells, a major part of your immune system.
